Join us Friday, January 24 in Fayetteville, N.C. for the opening reception of “Troublesome Presence” curated by Black On Black Project founder Michael S. Williams. The group exhibition features Spoken Word, movement, mixed media, sculpture and more. The reception begins at 7 p.m. RSVP via Facebook here.
The exhibition, which features 13 North Carolina-based artists, underscores how African-Americans have been the antithesis of troublesome in the United States despite how Abraham Lincoln described free African-Americans during a speech in 1852.
The Arts Council of Fayetteville-Cumberland County, located at 301 Hay Street in Historic Downtown Fayetteville, is hosting this body work and the associated community programming. Learn more about the exhibition here.
