Curated Conversations: "I Carry Them On My Back, Of Course!"
Black On Black Project’s Curated Conversations (EP 22)
Mixed media artist Alexandria P. Clay joins Black On Black Project founder Michael S. Williams for a discussion about her latest body of work, "I Carry Them On My Back, Of Course!"
The exhibition is on view until March 11 at the Frankie G. Weems Gallery on the campus of Meredith College. "I Carry Them On My Back, Of Course!" questions the origins of "safe spaces," examines how they are conceived and studies who maintains them.
Author, journalist and poet Khalisa Rae opened the discussion with a performance of selections from her latest book of poetry, "Ghost in a Black Girls Throat."
