Ahmaud Arbery was fatally shot while jogging in Brunswick, Georgia, on February 23, 2020, according to video that was taken and has since been shared. The men seen in the video, Gregory and Travis McMichael, have been arrested and charged with felony murder and aggravated assault. The man who recorded the shooting has also been charged.
In this episode of Curated Conversations, we chat with three African-American men about their reaction to the video, we posit why this continues to happen and we discuss the propaganda that predates these incidents. The conversation includes artist and educator Lamar Whidbee, restaurant operator Geremy Gills and award-winning journalist and youth and community advocate Titan Barksdale.
