Join us August 2, 6 to 9 p.m. in Wilmington, N.C. for the opening reception of "Paradigm Shifts of Public Spaces: Wilmington," a joint exhibition between artists Alexandria P. Clay and Anthony Patterson. The reception will be held at Anchorlight Wilmington, located at 1 S. Front Street in the downtown district. RSVP here.
The exhibition examines what happens to African-American public spaces after a paradigm shift disrupts communities. The artists use the Wilmington race riot of 1898 and the Wilmington Ten as catalysts for their work. Follow along and contribute to the conversation using the hashtag #PSPSWilmington.
Alexandria P. Clay is the third recipient of the Black On Black Project's Jo Ann Williams Artist Fellowship. #JAWFellowship
Anthony Patterson is the current Black On Black Project/Durham Art Guild Artist in Residence.
We hope to see you August 2. Make sure and RSVP here via Facebook.
